In today’s day and age, one logo is never enough — there are so many different applications and touch points out there that one logo doesn’t always cut it or fit the space beautifully.
Back in the day one logo would suffice, but now we have several other marketing opportunities and places to plaster our logo – website, social media, digital signage, etc. – and so different logo options ensure that we have the best fit for the application.
But what exactly is a secondary logo? And does it make things confusing?
If done properly, a secondary logo (or alternate logo) will only enhance your brand image since it uses the same elements as your primary logo just in a different composition (same font, colours, icon, etc.).
For instance, a long, horizontal logo may be best for narrow storefront signage or business cards, whereas a more compact circle or square logo is best for social media. Make sense?
